| BOWSAW & BILLHOOK are two delightful lakes set within a working
farm environment and they come have a big reputation for large
catches. Due to its popularity there are a lot of matches are held
here so if you are looking for some pleasure fishing with a chance
of carp up to 36lb then contact Jim on the above number or
alternatively check the match calendar dates and lakes on the
website.. The lakes are set between RAF Odiham and Farnborough so if
you also have an interest in RAF Helicopters or even jets then you
will get an added bonus. Billhook( 1.4 acres) is the lake used for a
lot of the matches but does cater for pleasure angling. The largest
catch for a 5 hour session is 168 lbs. Bowsaw lake (1.7 acres) has
carp up to 36lb with numerous doubles of Commons and Mirrors being
caught throughout the year and this lake has a match record of 127lb. The largest Tench for this lake is 7 1/2
lbs so far and no doubt there are bigger fish for the taking and
there is a chance to have a go for some still water Barbel. For those who do organise matches then a cooked breakfast can be arranged or even enquire about a barbacue. The lakebed of Billhook has numerous features with depths to around 6 ft while Bowsaw lake is more even so more important top find those depressions. Just follow the signs into Odiham High Street. Look for the Nat West Bank and the now Chinese restaurant. Turn right into Kings Street. Continue until you come to the Cricket Club and take the next turning left signed Rye & Hillside continue and take the next right signed (broken sign) Roke and Farm Corner. You enter Roke farm with animals on both sides so be careful, carry straight on for about 500 yards and look for the entrance on the right with a small sign for the lakes. additional instructions are on the website.
