Churchgate Lakes complex consists of three lakes. The Top lake is heavily stocked with a good head of carp to15lb with Ghost and Grass to good sizes. There are plenty of Ide, Roach, Rudd, Bream and Tench for the match fisherman. The Middle lake is for members only and holds commons/mirrors to 30lb plus, Ghost to 30lb and Catfish to 40lb. The Bottom lake is again for day ticket and matches with carp to 20lb plus (a recent Ghost of 28lb), Bream to 10lbs and again plenty of silver fish to a good size. The Top and Bottom lakes are available for matches and are booking fast! Why not become a member and take advantage of those perks. The pegs on the match lakes have good platforms and are well laid out. We know that the Top lake is producing some very good catches. To get to the fishery we used the M25 onto the A13 towards Basildon, onto the A130, the A132 to Wickford and into Woodham road then into Rectory road. The fishery is about a quarter of a mile on the left. There are maps and instructions on the website. Please see our link above. There is a cafe open from about 7am to 1pm and some bait is available. Shower and toilet is also on site. Finally pretty easy access for disabled fishermen on the top lake. A very nice Function room may be available for hire. Please speak to Tony if you are interested. A nicely laid out and accessible fishery. |
