| There has been a fishery on this site for some time and was
known as Blakeway Farm Fisheries and had a reputation for its Pike
rather than Carp. The lake has been stocked with Carp for some time as well as
Tench ,Bream, Roach, Rudd and Perch. The new owners added to
this
with a large number of English bred BROADOAKS Carp and opened for the first season in
September of last year. Silverwood is the specimen carp lake with
Mirrors to 44Lbs plus and Commons to 38lbs plus. The fishery was not
managed for some time so the new owners have put in a lot of work to
get 3 out of 4 lakes fishing in a relatively short time. There
is a long way to go with all sorts of facilities planned to make it
a premier Carp fishery. You can already get your gear taken to the
swims, I believe that you can get cooked breakfasts and evening
meals. Electrical items can be recharged. In the planning, there are
showers , a club house / cafe, freezers, bait for sale (some is
already available) and some top tackle for sale. The fishery is on a
site of natural beauty and of scientific interest so there is a lot of
wildlife in the surrounding area. The lake closes for 8
weeks early in the year to give the wild life and carp a bit of a
rest. While this is a ticket water there is a syndicate (see web
site for membership benefits) and the members assist with the
maintenance in this 8 weeks
period. There is a school of coaching on all matters concerned with
carp fishing and is available at very reasonable prices. There are
winter workshops and many other organised/ sponsored events. For lots
